The story behind the Brushshark is a simple one. Development of the Brushshark began in the Texas Hill Country in 2001 and it has been commercially available since 2003. Land clearing contractor Mike Timme was making his living clearing cedar, shin oak, wild persimmon, mesquite, yaupon, and desert willow from Texas Hill Country ranches. Clearing the large diameter trees was easy with a Bobcat and commercially available implements. However the small diameter trees and brush had to be cleared by hand with chainsaws and loppers. Clearing by hand was effective but inefficient. He tried using shredders but they were problematic because of the rocks. In areas where you could shred, the stump left behind was to tall. It was also very hard on the mower and tractor. So Mike set out to develop a tool that would work efficiently and cut trees and brush at ground level. The final result is the Brushshark!
